June 20, 2010 // Castile–La Mancha (Spain)

The Catalejo (“Spyglass”) Project, which has been installed by SICE Seguridad for Alerta y Control S.A. and the Castile–La Mancha Health Service (SESCAM), has been given an award for innovation by the Castile–La Mancha ITC Technical Engineers Association (ITACA).

The Project consists of implementing the human surveillance and security service at certain health centres; distance surveillance using technical systems (installation of anti-intruder detector and alarm-transmission systems, and associated video-surveillance systems for image capture, controlled from an alarms-reception centre that is operational 24 hours a day; plus a GPS-based location and positioning service for professionals when using mobile units for home visits.

The full service was contracted by the SESCAM from the company Alerta y Control, who in turn contracted from SICE Seguridad the service for the implementation and maintenance of all the electronic systems used in the project, which came into operation last year.

It has now been implemented at all 193 health centres and 25 consulting centres covered by the Project, including 213 central alarm units; 218 sirens; 977 volumetric detectors; 23 broken-glass devices; 626 fixed push buttons; 84 radio buttons; 528 interior camera units; 9 exterior camera units; 587 interior mini-camera units; 3 exterior mini-camera units; 2 fixed interior cameras; and 218 video recorders.

At SICE Seguridad we would like to stress the importance of the effective liaison between the SESCAM First Aid and Central Services departments and the technical department of Alerta y Control S.A., and we are very pleased to have able to be part of the Spyglass project, which has been now been recognised by such a prestigious association.
